What to Expect

When we visit a church for the first time, there is always a feeling of apprehension. The question, “What can I expect?” looms in our mind. Let us try and set your mind at ease concerning what you might expect when you visit Woodbine Baptist Church by answering some of the questions that you may have in mind.

We know how overwhelming it can be to come to a new church for the first time.  This is where the Welcome Team comes in!  They will have everything you need to know for your first visit.  We look forward to meeting you this weekend!

From birth to 5th grade, our heart is to create a safe and fun environment for kids to encounter God and to learn about Jesus on their level.

Parents are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to service to enroll their kid(s) in our check-in system.  After enrollment is complete, parents will receive a badge matching their children’s badge and will be escorted to the kid’s age-appropriate location.

Our student ministry, the TruthSeekers,  offers a Wednesday night service at 6:30 pm and Sunday night service at 6:00 pm in the Educational Building for both Middle School and High School students.  Students are encouraged to attend weekend service with their families.

There is a place for everyone to plug in, no matter your age or stage of life.

First of all, you may expect to be greeted by a group of caring Christians. Perhaps you will recognize some faces as a face you have seen behind the counter in a local business, or a face you have seen while shopping for groceries in a local supermarket. We are everyday people, just like you, who have a desire to study God’s Word and worship the Lord in sincerity and truth.

Some people dress very casual while others might dress a little more formal.  You just come however you are comfortable.  You are welcome here!

People will use different translations of the Bible.  Some use NIV, NASB or KJV while others use a newer translation. As pastor, I generally read from the NASB or CSB.  If you don’t have a Bible, we’ve got one for you.  Any good translation that is true to the original languages is certainly welcome in our church.

Sunday School begins promptly at 9:45am and concludes at 10:30am. The Morning Worship Service begins at 10:45am and generally ends around noon. The Sunday Evening Worship Service begins at 6:00pm and usually ends at 7:00pm.

Wednesday night Bible study and prayer time begins at 6:30pm.

We believe you will feel a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which to study God’s Word and worship Him. Rather than being greeted by a couple of elected greeters, you will likely be welcomed by a host of individual Christians who are genuinely glad that you have chosen to come and worship God with them.

We hope the information above has been beneficial to you.   Continue to browse our website for more information on our beliefs, location and service times.  Or listen to a message on our resources page.
